Giving Back
While in Mexico we would like to help support the local community, and have the opportunity to bring some much-needed supplies to a local school.
If you have room in your suitcase and wish to participate, here are some of the items that are in high demand:
Pencils, pens, crayons, markers, pencil crayons, paper, pencil sharpeners, erasers, calculators, USB's, glue sticks, backpacks, stickers, English reading books, hygiene products, hair accessories, colouring books, games, Barbie dolls, new clothing.
On Thursday, February 16 you will have the opportunity to present our donations to the school in person at a location near Secrets. If you would like to attend, please indicate your participation on the Registration page.
Here are some of the Giving Back initiatives from previous Discover trips. Thanks to participants' support, we have been able to help local schools in a variety of regions.
February 2019 – Pueblo Nueva School renovation in Dominican Republic. Wolseley Discover attendees and Wolseley’s corporate sponsorship together raised $10,000 for a major renovation on a local school. Our groups visited the school and brought supplies and treats for the local kids. Our donation supported a new building for the school grounds, which provided more space for children to attend school.
